AMC and Trafalgar Releasing have set an August 7 launch for Eminem-produced documentary “Stans,” exploring the rapper’s trajectory by the prism of the next of his most loyal superfans, and launched a teaser for the work.
AMC Theatres Distribution will launch the work, by Emmy-winning author, director, and investigative journalist Steven Leckart, in 135 AMC theatres within the U.S. for a restricted time interval from August 7 to 10.
All taking part AMC theatres will supply at the very least two showtimes per day. The doc will even obtain a full week awards-qualifying run at AMC Empire 25 in New York.
The film, which world premiered at SXSW London in June, takes its title from Eminem’s track 2000 track Stan about an obsessive, unstable fan. The track had such an affect that the time period ‘stan’ was formally added to the Oxford English Dictionary.
Stans examines the difficult relationship between one of many world’s most personal artists and his large public persona. By means of stylized recreations, uncommon archival footage, and intimate unique interviews, it follows Eminem’s profession and the passionate viewers that has grown with him.
