Project Pat’s Son’s Accused Killer Arrested After Fight With U.S. Marshals



Talia Jones was arrested in Minneapolis for her alleged position within the killing of Challenge Pat’s son Patrick Houston Jr. who was shot and killed in Memphis.

A girl named Talia Jones was taken into custody Tuesday (July 15) in Minneapolis by U.S. Marshals after being charged in reference to the January capturing demise of Patrick Houston Jr., the son of Memphis rap veteran and brother of Juicy J, Challenge Pat.

Jones, who had been needed for facilitation of first-degree homicide, allegedly resisted arrest when authorities positioned her. “She didn’t go quietly,” the U.S. Marshals Service stated in a press release. Officers stated she bodily fought again and tried to keep away from being detained.

The Memphis Police Division issued a warrant for Jones’ arrest on June 27, practically six months after Houston Jr. was gunned down in broad daylight on the intersection of Ketchum Street and Lengthy Road close to Charjean Park within the Imogene Heights neighborhood. Officers arrived on the scene round 1:15 p.m. on January 10 and located Houston Jr. lifeless from a gunshot wound, in response to a publish on Twitter (X) from the division.

No additional particulars concerning the motive or circumstances surrounding the capturing have been launched.

Houston Jr.’s obituary confirmed he was 22 years previous. A memorial service was held January 25 at M.J. Edwards Funeral House in Memphis, with burial following at Memphis Reminiscence Gardens.

Challenge Pat, born Patrick Earl Houston, is understood for his work with Three 6 Mafia and his solo profession, which took off after his 1999 debut album, Ghetty Inexperienced. He gained nationwide consideration with the 2000 hit “Sippin’ On Some Syrup” and has since collaborated with artists like Drake, Rick Ross and Denzel Curry.

Following his son’s demise, Challenge Pat posted on Instagram, “Boy i thank God for one more day. @breakinbaggs @gofoundation9 #letsgo.” DJ Paul, a founding member of Three 6 Mafia, responded with a string of prayer emojis.

Challenge Pat now focuses a lot of his time on jail ministry and runs the Go Basis, a nonprofit aimed toward outreach and rehabilitation for incarcerated people.

Jones stays in custody following her arrest in Minnesota.
