Brandy might be honored on the fourth annual Recording Academy Honors, hosted by the group’s Black Music Collective.
The R&B star will obtain the Black Music Icon Award on the ceremony on Jan. 29 on the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, days forward of the 2026 Grammys.
“So grateful and actually humbled to obtain the Recording Academy’s Black Music Icon Award. This honor means greater than phrases—standing on the shoulders of those that paved the best way, and celebrating the legacy, resilience, and brilliance of Black music,” mentioned Brandy. “Thank you to the Recording Academy for seeing me, supporting me, and honoring the journey.”
Gospel mainstay Kirk Franklin may also be offered with the award, which acknowledges “Black music creators whose artistry, innovation and repair have formed the business and impressed generations around the globe.”

Legendary producer Pharrell Williams will obtain the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award for his musical achievements, entrepreneurial innovation, philanthropic efforts and “far-reaching cultural affect worldwide.”

Established in 2020, the Black Music Collective is a bunch of outstanding Black music creators and professionals who share the widespread purpose of amplifying Black voices inside the Academy and the music neighborhood.
