The NBA has fined Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane $35,000 for throwing a basketball on the New York Knicks’ OG Anunoby throughout Sunday’s sport at Madison Sq. Backyard.
Based on NBA.com, the incident happened with lower than seven minutes remaining within the fourth quarter.
Bane and two different teammates tried to stop Anunoby from scoring. Because the ball was knocked out of his arms, the Knicks participant fell out of bounds. Bane then grabbed the ball and hurled it at Anunoby.
Bane was known as for a technical foul after the play.
The league fined Bane for “throwing the sport ball with pressure at an opponent in an unsportsmanlike method.” The Athletic reported that there was no dangerous blood between Bane and Anunoby—the 2 gamers laughed and hugged after the play.
The Knicks gained, 106-100.
This isn’t Bane’s first time being penalized for throwing the ball at an opposing participant.
Within the third quarter of the Magic’s 127-112 Nov. 4 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, as Onyeka Okongwu tried to attain, Bane grabbed his forearm for a tough foul, and the ball went up within the air. Okongwu fell to the ground. Whereas on the bottom, Bane threw the ball at him.
After the referees reviewed the play, they ejected Bane, who obtained a flagrant foul, from the sport.
