A former worker on the FBI is suing the bureau after he was allegedly fired for displaying a Satisfaction flag in his workspace. The flag has been supplied to him in recognition of his work on the taking pictures on the Pulse nightclub, a homosexual membership, in 2016.
David Maltinsky filed a lawsuit towards the bureau, FBI Director Kash Patel, the Justice Division and Lawyer Common Pam Bondi on Nov. 19.

Maltinsky labored for the FBI for over 16 years as an operational help function, then in an intelligence function. He later began his agent coaching and was accepted as a particular agent in April, based on The Washington Publish.
Patel stated Maltinsky had “exercised poor judgment with an inappropriate show of political signage in [his] work space throughout [his] earlier project on the Los Angeles Area Workplace,” based on the lawsuit.
The one signage Malinsky has in his workspace was a Satisfaction flag that had been given to him by the Los Angeles Area Workplace for his help through the taking pictures on the Pulse nightclub, a homosexual membership, in June 2016 in Orlando. The FBI “inspired and honored” Malinsky for his work on the taking pictures and two Satisfaction flags had been given to him “in particular recognition” of his work, per the lawsuit.

In January 2025, an FBI worker reported the flag to Maltinsky’s supervisor, who stated that “within the supervisor’s view, the show of the flag was fully permissible and applicable.”
In June, Maltinsky eliminated the flag whereas clearing out his workspace as he had been accepted as an FBI particular agent. He was set to start out a 19-week coaching program on the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. In October, three weeks earlier than commencement, he obtained a termination letter.
“Maltinsky displayed a flag offered to him by the FBI at his personal private workstation, talking fully as a personal particular person and with the permission of his superiors,” the lawsuit says.
Federal workers have been allowed to show emblems such because the Revolutionary Warfare-era Gadsden flag, an anti-government flag, or the Blue Lives Matter flag, based on the lawsuit.
